KALAHARI SAND BUILDING BLOCK (KSBB)

 

 

This is an innovative technology solution which has made it possible to use Kalahari sand in the production of fit- for – purpose and cost effective masonry units or bricks. The aim of the project is to provide habitable accommodation using locally available material and at the same time improve livelihoods. This projects are located at,Molopo,Takatokwane,Artesia,Kasane,Maubelo,Lehututu,Maun,Charleshill,Ghanzi East,Gumare and Seronga.

 

 

 

 

MACHINERY

 

 

A total of 7 freshwater fish farming/aquaculture and Inland fisheries projects have been embarked since August 2017 which include: Mmadinare fish hatchery, Shakawe, Kareng, Toteng, Thito-East VDC, Lake Ngami and Samochima. Also, another fish farming project has been initiated at Parakarungu-Chobe district from last financial year i.e. 2018-2019

 

 

 

EGG LAYERS

 

 

 

According to the latest Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) report (2019), the national demand for eggs is expected to increase from 110 million (about 62 eggs/person/yr) to 129 million per annum.1.11 Beneficiaries concentrate on production of eggs and opportunities exist in feed, equipment, medication and layer supply as well as grading, packaging and marketing.

 

 

 

 

CLUSTER GARDENS

 

 

 

Pilot cluster gardens have been established and are in production at Mahalapye, Tobane, Molalatau and Chanoga, with the one in Hebron not completed.1.13 Major crops produced include cabbage, green pepper, green mealies, butternuts, watermelons, rape, spinach, onions and beetroots.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FISHERY
